This faux fudge graciously showed up in my feed years ago. I deeply wish I could thank the author (whoever you are), and I’m glad I took it seriously. Three ingredients, two minutes of microwave time, and one very clear win in the easy-yet-elevated dessert arena.
INGREDIENTS
One bag of chocolate chips, ~10-12oz (milk, dark, whatever you like)One jar of hazelnut spread, ~24oz (like Nutella)Flaky salt (like Maldon)
DIRECTIONS
Line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper or foil. Set aside. (You could use any kind of container for this really, just make sure it's lined).Pour the chocolate chips and hazelnut spread into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30-40 seconds at a time, stirring thoroughly after each time. If you don’t stir frequently, the chocolatey mixture will burn! Repeat microwaving and stirring until completely combined and smooth. (~2 minutes)Pour the melted mixture into your 8x8, lined baking dish. Spread it evenly and smooth the top with the back of a spoon.Generously sprinkle the top with flaky salt.Place the dish in the freezer for ~30 minutes to set.Remove the fudge from the bake dish by lifting out the lined parchment or foil. On a cutting board, cut into desired sizes of square / rectangular shapes. Store covered in the fridge until serving.
